Broome Step-Up Step-Down Facility

EMCO Building is on site delivering the Broome Step Up Step Down facility for the Department of Finance, having been engaged initially through an early contractor involvement process to provide constructability advice and region-specific input during design.

The Step Up Step Down service will provide short-term residential care in a therapeutic, home-like setting, so Kimberley residents can receive tailored health support close to their families rather than travelling long distances. The adjoining renal hostel provides accommodation for patients attending dialysis.

Delivering health infrastructure in the Kimberley calls for careful planning around remote logistics, weather windows and local workforce. We are managing the works alongside the Department of Finance and the design team to keep the program on track for the community.
