Cockburn Career Fire Station Update

Cockburn Career Fire Station Update

1 Sep 2020

Work on the $ 8.5m Fire Station project is progressing well with the EMCO Building CCFS team having completed the structural steel framing, roof framing, and external stud framing to the Main Building Appliance Bay and Dormitory Building. Current works are progressing as planned including internal wall framing, mechanical ducting, plumbers tube-out, external cladding, and electrical wiring.

The 8m deep sewer works continue after extensive pre-planning and coordination. Stage 1 of the works is complete while the Stage 2 drill pit is currently boring to the next sewer pit 150m from site. The Stage 3 pit is currently being excavated. The EMCO Building team’s HSE procedures and onsite assessments have ensured this high-risk work is completed safely and efficiently.

Additionally, the Carpark structural steel is complete and blockwork walls are underway. The Training Tower suspended slab has also been completed along with the commencement of the 2nd and 3rd floor structural steel.

EMCO Building’s commitment to minimising any disruption to neighbours and the local community, continues to ensure we maintain a strong relationship with all stakeholders in the area. The project location is ideal for large scale construction. Unidirectional access into the site lends itself to streamlined management of site works. Given the proximity to mild/heavy traffic to North Lake Rd, this element is key to ensuring nil disruption to the public.

The Cockburn Career Fire Station will be a standout building, and we look forward to the rapid delivery of this essential facility. EMCO Building is pleased to be working with the following teams to deliver a quality project.
