EMCO Building awarded contract for World-Class Development in Port Kennedy

16 Jul 2020

EMCO Building is pleased to announce it has been awarded the construction contract to the Kennedy Bay Golf Club House Project as part of a multi-million dollar transformation of the Port Kennedy coastline.

Developers of Kennedy Bay, Western Australia Beach and Golf Resort, confirmed EMCO Building as their construction partner with the clubhouse project scheduled for completion in September 2021.

Designed by Gresley Abas (known for the award-winning Wembley Golf Course), the EMCO Building’s scope of works involves the demolition of the existing clubhouse buildings and the construction of a new golf clubhouse, restaurant, and carpark to be delivered in (2) two separable portions to minimise disruption and to ensure the nine-hole course remains open to golfers throughout its transformation.

The new clubhouse will be set into the existing landscape with a restaurant/café/bar incorporating alfresco dining, featuring natural finishes such as timber cladding, floor to ceiling commercial grade glazed elements, honed concrete floors internally, exposed aggregate concrete paths externally, and a high level of fully reticulated landscaped areas surrounding the building and newly formed car parking areas.

In addition to these features, the clubhouse includes state of the art change rooms, admin/reception area, and a decorative breezeway leading from the pro-shop to the golf course entry point.

Development manager for Place Development Australia, David Roberts said:

“Kennedy Bay is an ambitious and significant redevelopment of a large portion of the Western Australia coastline into a new thriving commercial, hospitality and recreational destination. We know our design and construct partners will be absolutely critical to its success.”

“EMCO Building is a leader in their field and I have complete confidence in their ability to deliver on our shared vision.”

Being located on the coast, EMCO Building has carefully selected materials and fixings, capable of withstanding the harsh coastal environment, and to ensure compliance with the BAL-19 rated bushfire zone the project is located within.

EMCO Building is excited to be part of this World-Class Development working with the following teams to deliver a quality project.
