RAINE SQUARE SEWER UPGRADE WORKS
The new sewer and grease traps for the Raine Square Sewer Upgrade project are complete and have been handed over to the Client.
Working with an occupied car park located two levels beneath the City’s main business district has been a challenge. However, we have been successful in keeping the construction noise throughout the sewer upgrade to an acceptable level, while safely coordinating the works with the ongoing live operations of the busy car park.
Several unforseeable difficulties have been overcome while installing the new grease trap. These include buried massed grout, concrete and a crane base, all of which we had to circumnavigate when installing the new pipeline. To accommodate a complete new venting pipe work solution, some redesigning was required during the work. Our EMCO team was quick to draw up this new design and managed to obtain Water Corps approval within a few days, reducing the impact of any delays on the grease trap project.
Furthermore, from these challenges, the existing water table has been carefully monitored throughout the entire process, to minimise any risk to the public using the car park and to the new grease trap construction. EMCO’s expertise in managing these types of civil projects has proven invaluable in bringing the project to a successful conclusion.
The sewer upgrade project has successfully been handed over and sees the client happy with the output.
