EMCO Building is a progressive building company providing service and quality. Since incorporation in 1986 EMCO has grown to be a major contractor in the WA Commercial Sector. With the growth of the Company we have taken on new challenges and now offer the full spectrum of building services from refurbishment through to large scale new build structures and their associated infrastructure packages. We can easily handle projects with a value up to $55 million.
As we have grown we have remained focused on our core objective – to provide a high quality contracting service at all times. With this in mind we are focused on those areas where we know we can provide added value through our construction expertise.
So what do we actually do? – We can provide solutions for:
- Major refurbishment/alteration/new build projects including schools, colleges, military establishments, commercial and retail developments. Our high level of expertise in these areas means that we are particularly suited to complex refurbishment projects.
- Design and Construct projects.
- The complete building service for most commercial and industrial buildings including warehouses, production facilities, retail stores, leisure facilities, offices, hotels and carparks.
- Large residential developments such as apartment blocks.
- Structural elements associated with major civil engineering contracts such as walls, pumping stations etc.
- Understanding the project and how it affects the client.
- Ensuring that the construction process is carried out in the most effective and timely manner and to cost.

Management team:
Emco building has a highly qualified and experienced management team covering the full range of construction professions from engineering (both mechanical and civil), through estimating, construction management, cost management, surveying and marketing. The Senior Management is made up of:
John G. Ripp
Director

John has an extensive background in the management of engineering and project oriented companies. He holds an Assoc. Mech. Eng., B. Commerce, is a C.P. Eng. and is a member of the Institution of Engineers, Australia. He is also a member of the College of Mechanical Engineers. He has over 10 years of experience in the mechanical services aspect of the construction industry and over 25 years of direct management and control of businesses both in Australia and the USA.
John focuses on the financial control of the business and its many projects to ensure a high level of efficiency and control.
Don Cousens
Director

Don has been in the construction industry over 30 years. He has a B. Engineering (Civil) is a C.P. Eng and a member of the Institution of Engineers, Australia. He is also a member of the College of Civil Engineers and the Australian Institute of Building. Don has experience in all facets of construction and has personally supervised, on-site, multi-million dollar projects.
Through Don’s drive the company has, in addition to a level of excellence in traditional new construction, developed particular expertise in tilt-up construction. This is seen as a particularly cost effective alternative for new projects.
Ron Keogh
General Manager

Ron has many years management experience in specialist construction companies including a number of years with a large UK precast concrete producer.
Prior to joining EMCO Building Ron was Marketing Manager for the UK arm of a large European based Multi-National Company with a diverse range of interests.
Ron holds an Honours Degree in Economics, A Post Graduate Diploma in International Marketing, and an Advanced Certificate from the Institute of Management (UK).
Ron’s primary focus is developing and implementing strategies for business growth to meet our stated business objectives as well as the general management of the business.
Mark Gomez
Construction Manager

Mark has a wealth of experience with over 15 years in Construction Management and is responsible for the day to day management of our various Site Managers, on-site staff and sub-contractors. Mark ensures that the projects are completed on program and in accordance with our OH & S and quality procedures.
Marks experience with large projects, combined with his strong people skills and close working relationship with the Site Managers provides a valuable additional level of expertise.
Mark’s main focus is ensuring the overall delivery of the project.
